Overlay District

A Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District (NCOD) designation, whether used to protect distinctive architecture or natural features, stabilize property values, or deter incompatible development, is a neighborhood revitalization planning tool that provides a more predictable course of development for both neighborhood properties and the development community, an efficient building permit process without the necessity of a Commission review, and a means if self-determination for residential and commercial neighborhood organizations.

Fayetteville State will accomplish this task primarily through the continued development, expansion and strengthening of multi-lateral partnerships with residents of the Southern Murchison Road Corridor community and with local government officials in the form of one on one meetings with Chancellor James Anderson and his leadership Team, Public forums, and community outreach efforts.
