About Us
As the primary liaison between Fayetteville State University and the legislative and executive branches of North Carolina government, the State Relations team works closely with other university of North Carolina campuses and higher education groups in North Carolina to promote the institution's value to the long term success of higher education and economic transformation in North Carolina.

Founded in 1867, Fayetteville State University became a member of the University of North Carolina system in 1972. Since that time, FSU has served the residents of North Carolina by educating the majority of its teachers and educational administrators in the southeastern region of the state, providing access to education for low-income and first generation college students, and military affiliated populations.
As a state entity, the University receives the majority of its budget from the State of North Carolina. We invite the constiutents of North Carolina to utilize our campus as a resource for human, intellecuctual, social, and financial needs.
Legislative Session Updates
The 2011-2012 biennium of the North Carolina General Assembly convened on January 26, 2011. The legislature will reconvene on May 16, 2012 at noon.
