This standing committee is charged with the responsibility of examining the rules and policies pertaining to graduate education at FSU. It makes recommendations for new policies and rules and it provides recommendations for needed changes about standards and requirements pertaining to dissertation, thesis and standardized tests. It evaluates proposals from programs and departments about changes in their graduation program policies.
This standing committee is charged with the responsibility of examining appeals by students with regard to grade dispute, grievance with faculty, and other matters which require the attention of the executive committee as determined by the Dean of the Graduate School. The committee is also charged with the responsibility of making recommendations on future directions of the Graduate School with regard to research and programs.

It reviews and makes recommendations on graduate student grade appeal and for students asking to be reinstated into the graduate program after expulsion from graduate programs

This committee is charged with the responsibility of dealing with graduate student activities inside and outside of the University. The committee advises the graduate student association and ensures the inclusion of student opinions and perspectives in the Council decision making process.
