During the 2008-2009 academic year, FSU will restructure its Honors Program. Applicants to the new Honors Program must complete one semester of study at FSU before they can be admitted. Recruitment for the new program will begin in spring 2009.
Students selected into the program will have the opportunity to participate in a myriad of educational and social activities that will enrich their FSU experience. Please visit the Honors Programs website periodically for updates.
With these changes, FSU will no longer offer scholarships for participation in the Honors Program. Instead, the university will offer two new scholarships for high-ability students with records of strong academic achievement. The new scholarships – Chancellor’s Scholarships and FSU Scholarships -- will be awarded through the Office of Admissions. No additional application is required for consideration for these scholarships; all applicants for admission to FSU will be considered. Notifications of awards will come from the Office of Admissions.
The new programs detailed above will have no impact on current honors students. The university will continue to provide funding support to all existing honors student as indicated in their original scholarship agreement. Current honors students will continue to follow the existing retention agreement and scholarship offer through graduation.
