The central focus of the department of Health, Physical Education and Human Services is to prepare facilitators of learning in the area of teacher education. However, in support of the missions of the University and School of Education, the mission of the department of Health, Physical Education and Human Services is to provide broad educational experiences for students which will enable them to become productive teachers and leaders in an ever changing society.

Our department...

is committed to maximizing learning and to develop each student to become a facilitator of learning. Each teacher in this department is responsible for each student seeking a degree at the University. The department is further committed to working cooperatively with local education agencies to improve overall quality of education in the Southeastern region.
