Dr. Evelyn H. Burrows was a professor of speech-language at Fayetteville State Univesity. She served as a member of the North Carolina Speech, Language and Hearing Association, Carolinas Communication Association, American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, and the National Communication Assoication. Her brother, John C. Honor, Jr., established the scholarship saying, "she loved education and the opportunity it provided her to give of herself to young people... she loved Fayetteville State University and worried about its future as a historically African-American institution of higher learning..." This scholarship helps maintain the legacy and traditions of FSU.
The Evelyn H. Burrows Scholarship awards $500 per year to a deserving student enrolled in speech, theater, accounting, or biology.
