Why does my participation matter?

Making an annual gift every year makes a statement to corporations and foundations, and college ranking publications that you believe in Fayetteville State University’s mission and support the unique educational experience that it provides. Your annual gift provides vital support to the immediate operating budget of FSU and helps to ensure that many of the departments, programs, teams, and faculty get the funds they need to provide a college experience of the highest quality while maintaining a balanced budget.

May I choose where I want my gift to go?

Every donor can designate his/her gift to any area of support or interest. A list of designations can be found by clicking here. However, unrestricted gifts give the University the flexibility to use the money where it is needed most.

How does the Division of Institutional Advancement support alumni fundraising events?

It is the practice of the Division of Institutional Advancement, to include the Department of Alumni Affairs, to support endeavors of alumni and other individuals that raise funds for Fayetteville State University. However, any fundraising events done in the name of FSU must be pre-approved by the Chancellor and or his designee—the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement. It is expected that the NAA, FSU alumni chapters, individual alumni and/or friends of FSU will respectively plan and execute any approved fundraising events they propose. The University will not be responsible for planning, execution, or ticket sales. The University will, however, support such events that meet the above criteria by promoting and attending such events when possible.

If I belong to an alumni chapter of the NAA, how should I make my gift?

If you would like for your gift to be recognized as a member of an alumni chapter or as a member of a particular graduating class, please note the name of your chapter or class year on the memo line of your check or on the gift envelope.  You are still able to designate your gift to the fund of your choice. The Department of Advancement Services will track these gifts in order to provide recognition to the respective alumni chapter.

What is the difference between making a gift to FSU and the NAA?
