Minors who conduct research at the Interdisciplinary Materials Research and Education Laboratory (IMREL) may apply for Materials Science Minor Scholarship. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident.
Application should include: (1) Application Form for Materials Science Minor Scholarship; (2) a copy of transcripts; and (3) a letter of recommendation. Selection is made by the IMREL faculty. The scholarship is provided into two parts:
(1) Students who are registered for one or more MATS courses receive $100/month for the research training during the course studies;
(2) Students who have completed the availalbe MATS courses and conduct research with IMREL faculty members receive $300/month, with required attendance of at least 20 hours per month. The paycheck will be issued upon the submission of the Research Attendance Sheet.
The student may receive either part of the scholarship, or both of them.
