A WELCOME MESSAGE

Our nation is faced with the presence of unforeseen vulnerability and the recognition that now, more than ever, there is a need for global interdependence.  Our knowledge of the international scene and a global understanding of issues of the world must become the focus of the University’s educational community.  Fayetteville State University will distinguish itself in the preparation of leaders in all disciplinary fields who will compete successfully in our global economy, who will demonstrate 21st century global competencies and educate its students to be personally and professionally successful in the 21st century.  In order to do so, we enhance the global competitiveness of our graduates.  The University prepares the students by equipping them with them with the tools they will need to adapt to the ever-changing world.  Fayetteville State University programs, especially research programs, are globally competitive to ensure that they are globally relevant and significant.  Fayetteville State University has increased partnerships between its own campuses and international universities and enhanced global awareness of its faculty and students.  It is very important that students and graduates of the University have the capacity to function and compete in a complex and increasingly interdependent global community.
