Boren Scholarship Application Deadline - February 9, 2012
Boren Scholarships allow U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests but underrepresentated in study abroad. Applicants participate in a pre-arranged study abroad program administered by a U.S. institution, a consortium of U.S. institutions, an overseas institution, or a third-party provider. Students should work with the International Education Center or Ms. Hoy, the Boren Campus Representative to identify the best study abroad opportunities.
Study of a foreign language appropriate to the identified country or region must be an integral part of each application. The language component must incororate opportunities to develop, maintain or advance proficiency in a language, including instruction and application inside and outside of the classroom. With the exception of French and Spanish, there are NO minimun language requirements. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the language and demonstrate how he or she will continue stuying the language beyond the scholarship program.
Scholarship Benefits
Maximum schoalrship awards: $10,000 for a semester
$20,000 for a full academic year
