ITTS nor ResNet are not obligated to add or remove any system components from your computer, such as a network interface card. We recommend that you install the peripheral yourself or bring your computer to a local computer store and have them install it for you.
All first-time Freshmen will receive their FSU student network account from their University Studies' (UNIV 101) instructor. All other students including transfer students, will have accounts created shortly after registration. You can lookup your network/e-mail account information from the Current Students page or from Banner.
If you are experiencing problems with your network account, you main obtain assistance at the ITTS Help Desk in the Cook builiding. You can also reach the ITTS Help Desk via phone at (910) 672-2085.

You will need to purchase a 10Base T Ethernet cable. Only use cables that are rated Category 5 network use. These cables need to be wired EIA568A.
Do not attempt to use a telephone line cord or other non-10Base T cable with your Ethernet adapter.
You can purchase a network card & cable from Best Buy, Circuit City, or any local computer store. Prices for network cards usually start from $14.95. Ethernet cables usually cost no more than $10.00.
