Committees

Communications Committee

Charge: To develop strategies for improving internal and external communication and documentation. The committee should develop strategies to address:

• Standardization of internal announcements
• Standardization of external announcements
• Keeping Help Desk staff informed of new and emergency issues
• Standardization of internal documentation (policies, procedures, desk manuals, "How To’s", checklists, etc.)

Helpdesk Committee

Charge: To aid staff/students in collecting the necessary information to adequately assess user issues and complete a FootPrints ticket.

The committee should develop useful tools such as:

• Help Desk/Tier 1 Script
• Internal Contact Directory
• External Contact Directory
• FootPrints Documentation Standards

Student Employment Committee

Charge: To develop strategies for improving the student employment process and training program. The committee should develop strategies to address:

• Equitable student compensation scales
• Progressive training plans tied to compensation
• Standardization of documentation for disciplinary actions, evaluations, handbooks, timesheets, sign-in sheets and other administrative documents
• Documentation for student employee supervisors
• Decrease student turnover and increase moral
• Mentoring and developing students to have strong work ethics and sound technical knowledge at graduation
