Committees
Communications Committee
Charge: To develop strategies for improving internal and external communication and documentation. The committee should develop strategies to address:
- Standardization of internal announcements
- Standardization of external announcements
- Keeping Help Desk staff informed of new and emergency issues
- Standardization of internal documentation (policies, procedures, desk manuals, "How To’s", checklists, etc.)
Helpdesk Committee
Charge: To aid staff/students in collecting the necessary information to adequately assess user issues and complete a FootPrints ticket.
The committee should develop useful tools such as:
- Help Desk/Tier 1 Script
- Internal Contact Directory
- External Contact Directory
- FootPrints Documentation Standards
Student Employment Committee
Charge: To develop strategies for improving the student employment process and training program. The committee should develop strategies to address:
- Equitable student compensation scales
- Progressive training plans tied to compensation
- Standardization of documentation for disciplinary actions, evaluations, handbooks, timesheets, sign-in sheets and other administrative documents
- Documentation for student employee supervisors
- Decrease student turnover and increase moral
- Mentoring and developing students to have strong work ethics and sound technical knowledge at graduation
