WiFi Overview
Network Services provides over-the-air (wireless) access to the FSU computing network and the Internet; data is transmitted over radio waves between your computer and special access points (AP's).
All members of the FSU community, including students, faculty, staff, and other affiliates, as well as visitors, may use the Fayetteville State University wireless network. All faculty, staff, students, and visitors conducting non-university business must connect to the FSU-WiFi SSID, and follow the on-screen instructions to get connected. However, faculty and staff conducting university business via wireless must connect to the FSU-SECURE SSID using their FSU network credentials.
The FSU wireless network supports 802.11a/b/g and n compatible wireless cards, and coverage is available in multiple locations around campus.
ITTS is solely responsible for installing Wireless Access Points on the University campus. Students, faculty and staff are not permitted to install wireless networks on campus, including in University Residence Halls. Departments who want to set up wireless access points in their area should contact ITTS.
