Your Future

At Fayetteville State, what you learn in class is important; how you put it to work for your future is the real key. And there, we’ve got you covered. We’ll do more than develop your mind. We’ll help you chart a course for a successful future.

Service Description

Supplemental Instruction: Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that
targets historically dificult courses. SI is a non-remedial approach to learning enrichment that increases student performance and retention.  SI offers regurlarly scheduled, out-of-class review sessions to all students enrolled in a targeted course.  SI study sessions are informal seminars in which students review notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools and prepare for examinations.  Students learn how to integrate course content with reasoning and study skills.

Reading: College Reading and Integrated Study Skills (CRISS) Lab provides individualized classroom instruction and computer-assisted instructional activities designed to enhance reading and study skills.  For UNIV 101 and 102.

Writing: The Writing Center is an essential component in the team effort to build writing skills for any course through individual writing conferences, writing-related resources, working with instructors, and helping students help themselves.

Math: The Math Lab is an appointment-based, one-on-one and group tutoring service available to all Fayetteville State University students with priority given to incoming freshmans. Priority is given to students who are enrolled in Math 121 & 123.
