Fayetteville State University’s Writing Across the Curriculum program promotes writing as a means for learning, clarifying, arranging, and expressing course content and researched information.

Explore the Writing to Learn page if you are interested in using writing as a learning tool rather than assigning a formal paper. There, you will find inspiration and information about using short, informal writing assignments to motivate and engage students to learn the concepts of your course.

If your course goals include Formal Writing Projects (such as essays, case studies, or reports) or mixed media assignments (PowerPoint or poster presentations), you will find links to advice on developing assignments, supporting students through the process of researching, drafting, revising, editing and proofreading their formal papers, and responding to and assessing student writing.
