Handshake Job Board

Handshake is Career Services' new career platform. Employers will be able to utilize Handshake to access qualified candidates for competitive opportunities such as full time jobs. Alumni will be happy to see that there are opportunities posted for more experienced graduates.

We offer career coaching appointments for alumni via phone, Skype or in-person. Your career coach can help you with a variety of career-related items including:

What services are offered by Career Services?
Answer: Career Services offers career coaching; job search assistance; résumé and cover letter assistance, job listings for full-time, part-time and internship positions (through Handshake); events such as the annual fall & spring career fairs; career development workshops; interviewing preparation (mock interviews); employer information session and on-campus interviewing.

Where is Career Services located?
Answer: We are located in the Rudolph Jones Student, rooms 223 & 227

What are Career Services hours?
Answer: Career Services is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

When should I start visiting Career Services?
Answer: Career Services welcomes students, starting on their first day on campus.

How long are appointments?
Answer: No, appointments are not required to visit; however, appointments benefit students' schedules and are required for various services (i.e., making a career decision, resume critique, job search, applying to graduate school, etc.). It's easy to make an appointment with a career coach - just call (910) 672.1205.

How do I find an internship?
Answer: Appointments are usually scheduled for either 30 or 60 minutes depending on the type of assistance you need. The Career Services' staff is available to answer students' questions on a walk-in basis.

Why do I have to dress professionally for an interview?
Answer: Dressing professionally for a practice interview can facilitate preparing you as an interviewee to understand an interview's step-by-step process. An interviewee's first impressions are extremely important so your attire will also be discussed.

Where can I take an interest assessment to help me to assist me with a career/major decision?
Answer: Just call or visit our office and make arrangements to take a career assessment. We have two assessments that you can take. The first one is Focus 2 and can be taken at your leisure from any computer. First register for an account and use your broncos email. The access code is bronco. The second assessment is My Next Move and can also be taken on any computer once an account has been created. In addition, it is recommended that you make appointment with your career coach to get your career assessment results interpreted.
