Lumbee Guaranty Bank Pledges $25K For Student Scholarships

Lumbee Guaranty Bank pledged $25,000 to Fayetteville State University (FSU) for the establishment of an endowed scholarship. The scholarship will support students in the internationally recognized Broadwell College of Business and Economics.

"It's an honor to be a part of this wonderful commitment," said FSU Chancellor Darrell T. Allison. "We value every dollar that Lumbee Guaranty is investing in FSU and we intend to be good stewards of these funds for our students."

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Lumbee Guaranty has a reputation for supporting institutions like FSU and other worthy causes. Kyle Chavis, chief executive officer, said his bank considers the gift a reinvestment in the community.  

"We fund scholarships for high school students and investing in FSU was a natural marriage and next step," Chavis said. "Education is the key to success, and we look forward to partnering with FSU more in the future."
