UNIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY ALLIANCE FOR MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE


Collaborating with the FSU Honors Program, the NSF supported UCAMCS program provides scholarships to academically talented but financially needy students from underrepresented groups to complete their baccalaureate degree and to enter the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,  and Mathematics) workforce.

2006-2011 --- $458,000.00

BENEFITS


¨     Financial support up to $10, 000 yearly

¨     Enhanced student advisement and mentorship

¨     Assistance with Graduate Record Examination (GRE) preparation

¨     Opportunities for summer research internships

¨     Opportunities for learning communities

¨     Scholars may matriculate into the Honors Program after completing at least one year in the UCAMCS   program

ELIGIBILITY

¨     United States citizens or permanent resident aliens

¨     Demonstration of academic potential and financial need

¨     High school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above

¨     Minimum combined SAT score of 1000 or ACT score of 22
