Biography:
Dr. A. A. Tavakoli earned his Ph.D. in Management from University of Aston and an MBA from Birmingham University in England. Dr. Tavakoli is currently serving as director of MBA program and Acting Chair of Department of Management at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. He has extensive research and consulting experience with several local, national, and international organizations; including, US Federal Highway Administration, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Back & Decker, and Cape Fear Valley Health System. Dr. Tavakoli teaches quantitative methods and small business consulting. He has worked on a number of applied research projects in the field of optimization and queuing models. The results of his work have appeared in Decision Sciences Institute, Operation Research and Management Science, and Academy of Economics & Finance publications. Dr. Tavakoli is a Certified Small Business Consultant and has been the recipients of national and regional awards for his work with MBA teams on business case competitions. He is also a recipient of 2000 MED Week award for assisting small businesses.
