  • What does FAQ mean?

  • How do I open and view .pdf files?

  • Where can I get a copy of the Graduate Catalog?
    You can get a catalog from the admissions office or download the 2002-2004 graduate catalog

  • What are the admission requirements?
    To be considered for admission to a graduate degree program, an applicant must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university or college.
    Graduate admission for the MBA program is for degree or non-degree students.  A minimum score derived from either of the following formulae is required for degree admission.

    (200 x Upper Division GPA) + (GMAT Score) = 1000
    (200 x Overall GPA) + (GMAT Score) = 950

    Other factors are considered in admission to the degree program; therefore individuals who fall below the established criteria stated above may still be considered for admission.  Non-degree applicants enrolling for graduate courses in business must complete an admissions application form and submit official transcripts and other related documents.

  • What is the Three-Two Program?
    Undergraduate students majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics and Finance in the School of Business and Economics may apply for admission to the MBA program during their junior year.  Qualified applicants may enroll in up to six credit hours of graduate level courses during each semester of their senior year, and then complete the remaining MBA courses in only one additional year beyond the undergraduate degree.  Requirements for admission into the Three-Two Program are based on current MBA policy with the exception of completion of a baccalaureate degree.  Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

    GPA for the last 60 hours = 3.0 or better
    (200 x GPA) + (GMAT Score) = 1000 or better
     
  • What is the admission application deadline?
    Fall Semester - 2nd week of July
    Spring Semester - 2nd week of December
    Summer Semester - 2nd week of May
     
  • How can I obtain an admissions application?

  • How do I register to take the GMAT?
    Register for the GMAT computer-based testing format at the www.mba.com. Our GMAT Program Code is 4RG-7X-37.                                                                                     
  • What is the status of my application?
    You can check your application status by visiting the "Application Status" section of this website.  You may also contact us.
     
  • How much is tuition and what other fees are there?
    Visit the Bursar's Office for information.
     
  • What types of financial aid does Fayetteville State University offer?
    Internships:  A limited number of paid internships are available for qualified students. The internships are provided by local organizations and are designated for students with demonstrated academic excellence.
    Graduate Assistantships:  Graduate assistantships are available to MBA students. Qualified students will receive up to $3,000 for an academic year in exchange for tutorial, research, and other related services.
    Loans:  Graduate students are entitled to apply for Guaranteed Student Loans (GSL), Perkins Loans, and the State Employees’ Credit Union’s Student Loan.

  • What are the requirements for North Carolina residency for tuition purposes and how can I change my current classification?
    Fayetteville State University adheres to the University of North Carolina's administrative policy governing residential status as outlined in the publication, A Manual to Assist the Public Higher Education Institutions of North Carolina in the Matter of Student Residence Classification for Tuition Purposes.  Copies of the manual are available at the Office of Admissions, the Student Government Office, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

    Students are responsible for being familiar with the contents of the manual and for informing the Office of Admissions of any changes in their residency status.

    Students wishing to register a change in their residency status or to appeal a classification may file the appropriate application form (North Carolina Public Higher Education Residence and Tuition States Application) with the Office of Admissions.

    Appeals will be considered on the basis of information written by the student on the application.

    Questions concerning residential status for purposes of tuition assessment may be discussed with the Director of Admissions during regular office hours.

    To be eligible for classification as a resident for tuition purposes, the applicant for such classification must have resided in the State of North Carolina for a period of at least twelve months.

  • What is the difference between Summer 1-2, Summer 1,
    and Summer 2?

    Summer 1-2 courses run through the entire summer.
    Summer 1 courses run through the 1st half of the summer.
    Summer 2 courses run through the 2nd half of the summer.
     
  • How do I register for classes?
    If you attended Fayetteville State University last semester, you can register for regular classes through the Banner website during pre-registration and regular registration times.  Late registration must be done through the MBA Office. Detail registration procedures click here.

    First time students planning on attending Fayetteville State University must register online.

    All students registering for online courses must register at the Continuing Education Building.
