Purpose:
This competition is intended to foster the entrepreneurial spirit, encourage development of innovative service or product concepts, and develop business leaders who aggressively pursue excellence, are fearless strategists and are committed to building effective organizations. The OFC Venture Challenge is open to the nation's HBCUs that offer graduate programs in business. Each team is expected to prepare an original business plan and presents the plan to venture capitalists, many of whom are ready to invest. This program has so far generated more than $266 million in capital and financing for hundreds of minority-owned organizations.
