Dr. Melissa Haithcox-Dennis (Dr. H-D) is an Associate Professor of Health Education, in the MSSS Department. She earned her BS in biology, from North Carolina Central University; her MA and PhD in health education from Montclair State University and Southern Illinois University, respectively. Her areas of research and practice are community organizing, coalitions, professional preparation of health educators, and technology integration in public Health.
She has published articles, made several presentations, and has served her profession in many capacities. Currently, she is a member of NC SOPHE and the Finance Committee Chair and member of national SOPHE and Eta Sigma Gamma, The National Health Education Honorary.
