Dr. Hass – Biology Program

Dr. Fleming – Biotechnology Proposed Program

Vacant – Forensic Science Proposed Program

Dr. Juma – Chemistry Program

Dr. Johnston – Science Education Program/

Dr. Wu – Physics/Astronomy exploratory Committee; Physics/Astronomy/NSCI Courses


CHARGE:


Develop new and review current academic programs under their purviews

Develop major and minor options in their program areas

Assess outcomes and accreditation needs of their program areas

Develop and implement student recruitment and retention strategies for their respective program areas

Develop, review and revise courses and curricula as needed

Participate in the Department course scheduling process

Coordinate student advising by Faculty in their program areas with the Department Chair

Coordinate student registrations for classes in their program areas with faculty

Make sure students’ selection of courses follows the prescribe degree plan of the program

Each program area will bring to monthly Department Faculty Meetings relevant academic issues for discussion.

Monitor, in conjunction with the Department Chair, student’s progress to his/her Degree Plan

Help students in preparing for Graduation

Prepare graduating seniors’ files for exist conference with the Department

Provide, in conjunction with the Department Chair, students counseling for career opportunities and job placements

Provide Department Chair annual report and/or recommendation on the academic programs coordination within the department.
