Research Interests:

1. Atomic Force Microscopy of Surface Interaction of Biological Species (DNA, proteins and drugs)

We investigates the molecular basis of protein aggregation and protein deposition diseases (e. g. Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease), and works on the development of effective therapies (drugs) to treat these diseases. Analytical and Biochemical approaches are used to investigate the detailed mechanisms of aggregation in these disorders.

2. Fabrication and Characterization of Nanomaterials (Nanoarray, nanotube, nanoparticles) and bio-functionalized nanomaterials for biosensor development

We focus on the syntheses of microscopic and mesoscopic materials for the development of Novel Electrochemical and Optical Biosensor. One of our research is the development of a portable field-detection system for explosives based on a nanostructural biosensor. It will be used for the ultrasensitive detection of explosives in monitoring of bomb in military bases, urban transportation areas or the work place, and the tracking of unexploded ordnance and landmines in the former war zones.
