Eligibility for admission to the upper division of the pre-licensure BSN program is dependent upon at least a "C" in nursing prerequisite courses and a MINIMUM overall grade point average of 2.8 in prerequisite courses with a MINIMUM Math/Science GPA of 2.8. Students applying to the pre-licensure program should compute the prerequisite overall GPA using the pre-licensure GPA calculator. Please do not submit application if your computed prerequisite GPA is less than 2.8. Also, do not submit an application if you have not completed or are not currently enrolled in PNUR 210 at Fayetteville State University.
A ranking formula is also used to determine admission to the School of Nursing. This formula awards points for GPA, Math/Science GPA as well as scores on the Kaplan Entrance Examination.
Admission to FSU’s pre-licensure upper division is very competitive. Approximately twenty five students are admitted to the upper division each semester. Applications must be submitted to the School of Nursing by September 30th for spring admission and March 30th for fall admission. Applications must be typed and NOT hand written.
Upon notice of admission, students are required to complete a criminal background check and a 12 panel drug screen run by a designated private company at a cost of $45. Please visit the website www.viewpointscreening.com to complete the process. Students are also required to update their immunizations according to CDC guidelines to complete the admission process.
