Dr. Hodges earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Barton College, a master of science in nursing with a concentration in nursing education from Walden University, and a doctorate in nursing practice and certificate as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has over 18 years of nursing experience with clinical experience in the areas of medical surgical nursing, pediatrics, and long term care. Dr. Hodges has 9 years of nursing education experience at the associate , baccalaureate, and master's degree levels, teaching in both the traditional classroom and the online environment. Her areas of research include diabetes, with a focus on culturally sensitive education programs, and integration of technology in nursing education. She is also board certified as a family nurse practitioner and maintains her credentialing by providing sick and well care to all age groups in a retail health clinic setting.
