Program Information

Bachelor of Science In Nursing Degree 

NursesThe Department of Nursing at Fayetteville State University (FSU), established in 1992,  offers the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.  Students may enroll in one of two tracks.  The RN to BSN track is designed for registered nurses who wish to earn the bachelor of science in nursing degree. The generic track is a four-year pre-licensure track leading to a baccalaureate degree in nursing.  Upon satisfactory completion of the generic track, the graduate is eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination - Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN).

Fayetteville State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  The Department of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) [CCNE recently granted FSU a ten-year full approval] and has initial approval from North Carolina Board of Nursing. 

StudentsApplications to the Upper Division Generic Program will be announced soon. Applications for the RN-BSN track are accepted as follows:  July 1 for August admissions; November 15 for January admissions; and March 1 for summer admission

The Department of Nursing is located in the newly renovated Cook Dining Hall Building on the campus (see Fayetteville State University Campus Map.). 

SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

Admission to the Upper Division Generic Program starts with admission to Fayetteville State University.

If you are new to FSU, please see specific information about admission to FSU (Fayetteville State University - Admissions Office).  You must be accepted to the university in order to apply for admission into upper division nursing. 

Admission to the RN to BSN track starts best with a transcript review at the Department of Nursing, followed by admission to Fayetteville State University.  RNs may start in Fall or Spring semester.  The plan of study is developed to meet the time and needs of each student.
