Mission

Consistent with the mission of the university, the mission of the Department of Nursing at Fayetteville State University (FSU) is to educate culturally competent, ethical, and caring nurses for a global society. Nursing is a discipline that builds on knowledge from nursing theory; the natural, social, and applied sciences; and the humanities. The Department of Nursing is committed to educating graduates who will provide evidence-based and patient-centered care. The faculty value the systematic and purposeful application of the nursing process to promote the optimal health of clients throughout the life cycle and in a variety of settings. The Department of Nursing strives to produce graduates who appreciate lifelong learning and are contributing members to the profession of nursing, the community, and society.
