April 18, 2015: The Sandhills NC Black Nurses Association held their First Annual Awards & Scholarship Luncheon at The Heritage Place, Fayetteville. Congratulations to Aisha Jiggetts, prelicensure BSN student, class of 2016 for being the Scholarship Recipient! Aisha is an active member of the American Red Cross, National Council of Black Women, Order of the Eastern Star, and participates as a student in North Carolina Nurses Association.

Fall 2014 BSN on-campus orientation!

The on-line RN-BSN completetion program on-campus orientation for Fall 2014 was held on August 14, 2014 at FSU's Nursing Education and Research Center. Of the 96 enrolled students 50 (which is pretty awesome for an online program!) were in attendance:

FSU honored Joylene S. Thompson, pre-licensure BSN due to graduate December, 2014, on April 24, 2014 as the Female Student Athlete of the year! Joylene was the senior middle hitter on the Women's Volleyball. Congratulations Joylene!

The VA Learning Opportunities Residency (VALOR) Program gives outstanding registered nursing students who have completed their junior in an accredited clinical program the opportunity to develope competencies in clinical nursing while at a VA-approved health care facility. Learning opportunities include didactic or classroom experiences, competency-based clinical practice with a qualified RN-preceptor, and participation in nursing-focused clinical conferences (see for this information).
