The Fayetteville State University Office of Access and Student Success announces its annual For the Love of Children (FTLOC) Conference on March 13, 2021. This year’s conference is virtual and will celebrate “Parenting with a Purpose” with workshop sessions to help parents learn about topics ranging from Academic Student Success and Financial Aid Information to Mental Health and Internet Safety. Guest speaker for the event is April Ryan, White House Correspondent.

The FTLOC Conference is being sponsored by the various programs in the Office of Access and Student Success, GEAR UP, and TRIO Programs. These programs are designed to improve the educational outcomes of millions of low-income, minority, and disadvantaged students across the United States, including over 10,000 served by the Fayetteville State University GEAR UP and TRIO Programs.

The “For the Love of Children” Conference will also feature partner vendors that will provide services to parents. These vendors include Fayetteville Technical Community College, Southern Regional-Area Health Education Center (SR- AHEC), Steps to the Future, The Group Theory, A Plus Prep, Mental Health supporters, TRIO Student Support Services, TRIO Support Services STEM, TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, TRIO Upward Bound and TRIO Upward Bound Math & Science, and TRIO Talent Search.

The “For the Love of Children” Conference is virtual free to attend. It will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. It is open to all parents of GEAR UP and TRIO Programs. Visit: http://bit.ly/FTLOC-Registration for registration information.
