About Us
The Department of Police and Public Safety is a fully accredited law enforcement agency with powers identical to those of municipal police agencies. The Department is located in the Mitchell Building on Martin Luther King Dr.
The security of the FSU campus is a joint effort performed by students, staff, faculty, and members of the Police Department. The Department provides services designed to enhance the personal safety of the campus community. Faculty, staff, and students assist in keeping the campus safe by avoiding risky behaviors and by reporting suspicious activities to the Police Department.
There are forty emergency call boxes strategically located throughout the campus for use in contacting the Police Department. There are emergency telephones on several buildings and inside the football stadium. Also, there are emergency boxes in the bleachers near the handicap seats. The Department may also be reached by telephone at 672-1341 (routine) or 672-1911 (emergency).
