Proud to be

Welcome to the FSU Police Department Property Security and Traffic Division web page. We are commited to providing a safe and secure environment through security and traffic enforcement for staff, students, and faculty at Fayetteville State University.

Property Security/Traffic Enforcement Division

The Fayetteville State University Property Security and Parking Enforcement Office are located in the Mitchell Building. Office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

Property Security/Traffic Officers enforce the University Parking Ordinance and conduct regular foot patrols in buildings and around campus, daily. The focus of these patrols is building security, personal safety of students and staff, and to maintain an active presence throughout the campus to deter crime.

Parking Enforcement

Permit parking and other violations are enforced 24 hours a day. Parking regulations are enforced throughout the entire calendar year and are not directly associated with the class schedule.

These regulations apply on the streets, sidewalks, and walkways, alleys, parking areas, parking spaces, and parking lots on all parts of the University Campus. Penalties for violations include citations, fines, towing and booting of vehicles. Any person owning, driving, or having custody of a motor vehicle on university property must comply with the regulations and procedures.

Permit Display

All parking lots require a parking permit and a parking permit does not guarantee the availability of a parking space. It grants only the privilege in an assigned area. Permits must be clearly visible at all times. Permits should be hung from the rear view mirror or placed on the lower left inside windshield on the dashboard. Permits are not permanently affixed to the vehicle. Permit holders are responsible for keeping vehicles locked at all times to prevent permit theft.

Absence of a parking space does not justify violation of any parking regulation. In addition, by parking a vehicle on University property, the University assumes no liability for loss or damage to a vehicle and its contents. Replacements for stolen or lost permits may be obtained only upon payment of a $15 fee.

Appeal Process for Tickets

Parking citations may be appealed in writing or in person to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Police & Public Safety or his/her designee within ten (10) days of issuance of citation. Appointments for in-person appeals should be made in advance.

Whether you are a student, employee, or visitor, we are glad you are here. Parking is a limited resource at the University and we ask that you observe all parking regulations. If you have any questions related to parking enforcement or property security, please call Lt. John McKoy at 910-672-1578 or parking administrative staff at 910-672-1812.
