Introduction: Fayetteville State University Online Psychology Welcome Statement

Welcome to the Department of Psychology at Fayetteville State University (FSU). The purpose of our online degree completion program to enhance the options available to students who would like to pursue the Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from FSU but who face obstacles to completing the degree due to distance and/or other scheduling conflicts. The program makes it possible for a student to complete their psychology degree by taking junior and senior level courses offered online by the Department of Psychology. The increased access to educational opportunities provided by the program fulfills an important mission of the University of North Carolina System.

The courses in the program are the same courses offered in the on-campus program and have been designed by the faculty. Students interested in the Online Degree Completion Program must complete the 45 credit University College Core Curriculum either on campus or through transfer of credit from another accredited institution. Acceptance of transfer credit to fulfill program requirements or electives is made on the basis of the university policies described on page 27-29 of the catalog. Transfer credits will be officially evaluated only after an applicant has been admitted and all official transcripts have been received. The same faculty will teach the online courses, with some adjuncts approved by the department.
