The intended audience is the service member or civilian who is unable to complete their degree on-campus due to time or distance constraints, those that are home-bound due to physical limitations or circumstances that will not allow for classroom attendance, or for those that simply prefer online programs for personal reasons. Online learning is quickly growing and this program allows for our full participation in this new educational delivery system.
Because of our proximity to Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base, FSU is also uniquely positioned to serve the needs of many military personnel and their families. For these individuals, frequent travels, off-base assignments, and reassignments often interrupt their efforts to complete an entire degree program on-campus. Furthermore, there are many nontraditional psychology students employed full-time who face scheduling challenges as they seek to pursue a psychology degree while continuing to work in the field of psychology. Our online degree completion program offers much needed flexibility to these individuals as well as the many others whose work schedules and other circumstances would otherwise prevent them from completing their college degree.
Fayetteville State University was approved by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors to offer the online degree completion program in Psychology on June 1, 2006.
