Dr. Stringham is the Lloyd V. Hackley endowed chair for the Study of Capitalism and Free Enterprise. He is professor of economics and entrepreneurship. He is past president of the Association of Private Enterprise Education, editor of the Journal of Private Enterprise, editor of two books, and author of more than two dozen articles in refereed journals, including Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Institutional & Theoretical Economics, and Public Choice. His most recent book, Private Governance, will be published by Oxford University Press.
Stringham has been discussed on more than 100 broadcast stations, including CBS, CNBC, CNN, FOX Headline News, NPR, and MTV. He has also been featured in hundreds of newspapers worldwide such as Time Magazine, 14 of the 20 highest circulating newspapers in the United States and the highest circulating English language newspaper in the world. His work has been the subject of discussion by Entertainment Tonight's Leeza Gibbons and has inspired a cartoon by Jeff Danziger, New York Times Syndicated Political Cartoonist.
Stringham earned his doctorate in economics from George Mason University in 2002. He won several awards including The Templeton Culture of Enterprise Best Article Award, Paper of the Year Award from the Association of Private Enterprise, Best Article Award from the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics and the Foundation for Economic Education, Distinguished Young Scholar Award from the Liberalni Institut and the Prague School of Economics, and Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award from the School of Business and Economics at Fayetteville State University.
