Biography Dr. Jerry N. Woods is an Assistant Professor of Sociology. He earned an A.A. in Liberal Arts degree from New York City Community College and both a B.A. in Sociology and a M.S.S.R. (Master of Science in Social Research) from Hunter College, all in the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Subsequently, he attained both his M. Phil. (Master of Philosophy) and Ph.D. in Sociology from the Graduate School, also, of CUNY. Dr. Woods has worked in the Program Evaluation/Assessment Department of the New York City Board of Education and has taught at several colleges and universities, both in New York City and in North Carolina, including Fordham, St. John’s, UNC-Pembroke, and Methodist. His research interests focus on racial inequality and injustice.
