BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Samuel Adu-Mireku is an associate professor of sociology. He was appointed chairperson of the department in July 2004. He began his academic career as head of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, South Carolina. He also taught for three years at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Sociology from Purdue University. His B.A. in Sociology is from the University of Ghana. He teaches Sociological Research Methods, Introduction to SPSS for Windows, Comparative Societies, Principles of Sociology, and Social Stratification at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His current research interests focus on youth risk behaviors, sociology of HIV/AIDS, school health, sociology of higher education, and victimization. |
