Biography Dr. Jeff Brooks is an Associate Professor of Sociology. He joined the faculty of Fayetteville State University in 1994 after completing training from the National Institute of Aging and his doctoral degree in Sociology from Purdue University. His Masters degree is also from Purdue University. Dr. Brooks wrote his dissertation in the field of social gerontology. The title of the dissertation was A Salutogenic Theory of Successful Aging. He teaches graduate courses in Aging, Aging Policy, Medical Sociology, Death and Dying, Theory and Statistics. Undergraduate courses he is qualified to teach include his specialty in social psychology and family. Dr. Brooks is also Nationally Certified and Licensed (NC #2475) as a Massage Therapist. His research focuses on applied sociology in the areas of aging and health, and he is working on a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill. |
