Letter From the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Sociology at Fayetteville State University. Our Bachelor of Arts degree has the objectives of preparing students for careers in various fields and to pursue advance degrees. The online degree completion program offers students who have completed the first two years of college classes the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology (B.A.). We offer core and elective courses in sociology at the 300 and 400 levels. Students entering our program should have completed transfer courses that would meet the requirements of the University Core Curriculum at Fayetteville State University. In addition, it is expected that prospective applicants would have completed courses that are equivalent to our Principles of Sociology (SOCI 210) and General Psychology (PSYC 210).
