The Curriculum Learning Resource Laboratory is located on the 2nd floor of the Charles Chesnutt Library. The mission of the Curriculum Laboratory is to provide students at Fayetteville State University with opportunities to develop new classroom approaches and instructional strategies through a variety of resources and equipment; thus preparing them as education professionals and facilitators of learning. The Curriculum Learning Resource Laboratory serves as a supportive unit service to undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education, and is committed to providing and enhancing learning experiences for students. Additionally, it supplements classroom instruction by providing opportunities for students and teachers to use audio/visual and teacher made resources in classroom settings. Project MAP (Monitoring Academic Progress) was designed to assess performance of students in the School of Education with GPA below 2.50. Each participant's classroom performance is monitored, and academic support by means of counseling, tutoring and workshops is given during the evenings. The Curriculum Laboratory staff will provide resources to improve the pedagogical skills of students who will need assistance. The service will be offered free of charge to the Teacher Education major and may include tuition-free coursework, supervision and consultation. More than 16,000 resources recommended by Curriculum Laboratory, Department Chairpersons, and Faculty available for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs who need assistance. |
