SSS Ambassadors

The Student Support Services Ambassadors Program is designed to provide students enrolled in Student Support Services the opportunity to develop leadership skills and a better understanding of the role of Student Support Services on the campus of Fayetteville State University. Ambassadors are public figures who advocate for Student Support Services. Ambassadors are student leaders who serve as a liaison and spokesperson for Student Support Services. The program is open to all students enrolled in Student Support Services at Fayetteville State University.

As public figures, Student Ambassadors serve as extraordinary representatives of Student Support Services, the University, to fellow students, and visits by distinguished guests; Ambassadors thereby promote the image of Student Support Services to the larger community. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to gain professional work experience, leadership training, professional development, and mentoring from Student Support Services leadership.

Student Support Services will provide Ambassadors with: 

  • Leadership opportunities which provide additional experience in community service, and which develop relationships with school administrators on all levels
  • Rèsumè enhancement which occurs as a direct result of involvement in leadership and Student Support Services activities, which reflect positively on both applications for employment and for future graduate programs
  • Professional work experience through participation in Student Support Services and program planning
  • Letters of recommendation at the request of the Ambassador
  • Student Support Services paraphernalia
  • End of semester retreat

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed to become an Ambassador:

  • Must have 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Positive attitude, commitment to integrity, and highly motivated and energetic with the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to work as a team where ongoing collaboration is a must
