What's New in 2010 for the FSU Staff Senate-President's Blog

The Staff Senate presents all SPA and EPA (non-teaching) staff new opportunity to participate in the successes of FSU. Our first initiative of 2010 is “5-5-5.” Through this initiative, the Staff Senate will encourage, support, and compile efforts to get all SPA and EPA non-teaching staff to make a positive impact on FSU and the community in three ways: fundraising, campus involvement and community action. Here is how everyone is asked to participate.

·         Make a monetary contribution to the FSU Annual Fund Drive in multiples of five. You may designate the Staff Senate as beneficiary or choose any other campus entity. Make your contribution online, through payroll deduction, or in person and enjoy the tax benefits available to FSU donors.

·         Participate in five campus events during 2010

o   Sporting and Athletic Events

o   Cultural Events

o   Student-Sponsored Activities

o   Speakers, Programs, and Lectures

·         Give five hours to help make the community better by supporting such organizations as

o   Boys and Girls Clubs

o   Cumberland County Schools

o   Senior Citizens

o   Special Olympics

o   Falcon Children’s Home

o   SPCA

o   Any other United Way Organization

Upon completion of your commitment, complete a short form on the Staff Senate web page detailing your actions, and get a wallet card and an “I Gave ‘5-5-5’ ” certificate suitable for framing. You name will also be listed on the Staff Senate “5-5-5” Honor Roll.
