INTERSESSION - WHAT IS IT?

Intersession is the opening term of Summer School at FSU.  An entire course is completed in just 12 days and classes are extended in length (about 4 hours/day).  The accelerated pace means that students should plan on studying three-to-six hours each day outside of class.

Some classes include off-campus excursions (field trips) to enrich and enhance the learning.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • There is no late registration for Intersession courses.  Students must be in attendance on the first day to take the course.
  • In order to be eligible for financial aid during summer school, students must be enrolled in a degree seeking program and registered for six (6) credit hours during Summer Session I (any combination of a least 6 hours during Intersession, Summer I 4-week, or Summer 8-week).
  • Contact the instructor to find out more details about their course.
