COURSE OVERVIEW. The Army-Fayetteville State University (FSU) MSW Program is a 9 to 14 months accelerated academic program that is followed by a 24-month post-graduate internship.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS. This program is open to enlisted personnel from all branches of service within the US Army. Enlisted personnel must contact their current branch assignment officer to obtain a conditional letter of release for a branch transfer and to obtain information on the current policy on stop loss/stop move.
COURSE PREREQUISITES. Applicants must have a liberal arts undergraduate degree from an accredited university. Selected MSW students must have completed undergraduate coursework that includes 3 semester hours of humanities, 18 semester hours of social and/or behavioral sciences, and 3 semester hours of human biology.
APPLICATION PROCESS. Applicants interested in attending the Army MSW Program should consult the current military personnel (MILPER) message that has been approved by the USAREC. In accordance with the MILPER message, applicants must contact their local AMEDD recruiter to begin the application process. The AMEDD recruiter must forward a complete application packet to the AMEDDC&S MSW Program in accordance with the instructions from the US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) approved MILPER message. The recruiter will also submit a complete accession application packet to the USAREC Headquarters for the February Accession Board, prior to the published deadline. The USAREC Board will only review applicants who have been academically approved by the AMEDDC&S MSW Program. Next, the USAREC Selection Board will provide the AMEDDC&S MSW Program a list of board approved applicants for admission to the Army-FSU MSW Program. The AMEDDC&S MSW Program will then forward original academic applications of board approved applicants to FSU for final approval by the university. Once enlisted applicants receive their letters of acceptance, they will be scheduled to attend the MSC Basic Office Leadership Course, prior to attending the MSW Program.
