MSW Part-time Program
Application Admission Deadline
Submit to the Office of Admission by January 15.
MSW applicants, who are employed or have extensive commitments, are encouraged to consider part-time study. The program is designed to accommodate students who, because of employment, family or finances cannot enroll as full-time students. Part-time MSW students are subject to the same admission criteria, field requirements and other policies as the full-time MSW students. Part-time regular track students take 61 credit hours and complete the MSW Program in three years. The part-time option is available each academic year, and part-time students are only admitted in the fall semester of each year. Part-time students must complete all requirements within four years of admission to the MSW Program. The foundation year is completed over two years. The advanced year is completed during the third year. Students complete classes on Fridays and Saturdays. During the foundation years and third advance years students complete two to three courses per semester. Students can take their social work graduate course electives during the summer and/or during the spring semester of their third year. Part-time advance standing students take 35 credit hours and complete the MSW Program in two years.

Under extenuating circumstances, i.e. employment, family obligations, etc. part-time students may do a block field placement. If students choose to do their block placements during the summer, they must pay summer tuition. No academic credit is granted for work or life experiences.
