BiographyMSW University at North Carolina-Chapel Hill Mr. Gregory E. Perkins is a Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor, credentialed by the American College of Certified Forensic Counselors, National Association of Forensic Counselors with a specialty in youthful offender counseling. His current employment is with the Cumberland County Mental Health Center’s Juvenile Court Outreach Program where he practices clinical social work as a Provisionally Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He is also certified by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as a Certified Forensic Screener and Evaluator. Mr. Perkins has extensive experiences in working with high and at-risk children and families through direct-practice interventions, parent education and advocacy on behalf of family systems. He has served in consultation, collaboration and training with local and statewide agencies. Mr. Perkins has presented at a nationally recognized research conference and received recognition by the Executive Director of the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission as a “subject-matter expert” and trainer. He has served as a consultant and trainer to the National Resource Center for Children and Youth Services at the University of Okalahoma, Tulsa and visiting lecturer at the North Carolina Justice Academy and Fayetteville State University. He is frequently featured in the local media regarding child mental issues and is host the television show “Focus on Mental Health”, a public affairs program sponsored by the mental health center. Mr. Perkins has been selected to join NASW and People to People as a delegate on the US-China Joint Social Work Delegation to Beijing China.
