A new, international, peer-reviewed, open
access eJournal, entitled International Journal for the
Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (IJ-SoTL) at
http://www.georgiasouthern.edu/ijsotl/
will be published by the Center for Excellence in Teaching at
Georgia Southern University (Statesboro, Georgia, USA) with the
inaugural issue scheduled for January 2007. The deadline for
submissions for the first issue is November 1, 2006.
IJ-SoTL focuses upon higher/tertiary education and emphasizes
that effective teaching is measured by the quality and depth of
student learning, that it is serious intellectual work that requires
sustained and complex work, that it can be opened for conversations
and collaborations among colleagues, and that it can be
evidence-based through pedagogical research. IJ-SoTL has the vision
of being the premier international SoTL journal by being an
advocate, agent and crucible for international conversations,
contacts and work on SoTL.
