The following table lists University College Core Curriculum requirements with core courses generally open to first-time freshmen. Credit hours are listed in parentheses ( ). Courses with an asterisk (*) have a placement or pre-requisite requirement.  Students must have the appropriate placement scores or transfer course credit to take these courses. Placement criteria are available from University College. The FSU Undergraduate Catalog lists  pre-requisites. Many major programs require students to select specific courses to fulfill Core requirements. See the Catalog or a Four-Year Plan for details. Speech (3 credits): SPEE 200 (3) Introduction to Speech. Prerequisite: ENGL 110; Corequisite: ENGL 120. (required of all students)
Mathematics (6 credits) Depending upon placement scores and major, may exceed six.
