The Goal
 

The Program

The Upward Bound Program provides educational/academic support services and activities to high school students residing in Cumberland, Hoke and Robeson counties. This pre-college program provides the following services: academic instruction on Saturdays at FSU, tutoring, academic support workshops, mentoring, college tours, cultural enrichment activities, and a six-week summer residential program at FSU.

Upward Bound . . .

is funded by the U.S. Department of Education to serve students coming from low-income families. The Program provides academic support services to high school students who meet the federal eligibility criteria. Fayetteville State University's Upward Bound Program is designed to serve four targeted high schools in Cumberland, Hoke and Robeson Counties in North Carolina. The program currently serves 56 participants who have a desire to enroll in college after completing high school, and have a need for academic assistance while enrolled in high school.
