The HESI A2 - Beginning in fall 2007, the HESI A2 (Health Education Systems Inc. Admission Assessment Test) will be administered year round through University Testing Services. The A²™ results are generally used to determine readiness for admission to and success in a variety of Nursing Programs nationwide. The HESI A2 is 6 hours long. The exam consists of 10 sections. These sections are described in detail at http://evolve.elsevier.com/staticPages/i_reach_exams_assessment.html .
Questions pertaining to admission and/or test requirements for the FSU nursing program MUST be directed to the FSU Nursing Department at 910-672-1924, or email jdraper@uncfsu.edu .

The Testing Center does not have study materials available for the HESI exam; however, HESI now has available for purchase an Admission Assessment Study Guide. This can be purchased from the HESI website: http://portals2.elsevier.com/portal/portal/hesi . Students are asked to do their very best in order for it to be a true reflection of their abilities.
Can you tell me what to expect on the HESI exam?
We recommend that you visit the HESI website and view the information provided by those sources. We cannot personally tell you what to expect on the exam beyond the subject areas the exam covers.
Pre-registration AND $55 payment to FSU Cashier’s Office are required in person or by mail in advance of the test date preferred. Examinees may register in person at the Testing Center, 134 Collins Administration Bldg., or by mail. You cannot register by phone or online for this exam.
If you choose to register in person, payment can be made to the FSU Cashier’s Office by cash, money order (payable to FSU Testing Services), Visa, or Mastercard. Your appointment will be confirmed in person upon providing your receipt to the staff in University Testing Services, 134 Collins Bldg.
If you choose to register by mail, send the registration form and payment (money order only payable to FSU) to University Testing Services, 134 Collins Building, 1200 Murchison Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28301. The mailing address is also printed on the form.
Be sure to list two different exam dates you prefer. We will try to schedule you according to your first choice exam date; if we are unable to schedule either preference, we will notify you of the next best option. If you list an email address, you will be notified by email instead of by phone. Seating is very limited on each exam date, thus we recommend registering well in advance of the date you prefer to test, especially if it is close to the application deadline.
The HESI exam will be given several times prior to each application deadline, however seating is limited on those exam dates, so do not wait close to the program application deadline to sign up for the exam. Exam dates are subject to change. Do not provide a date that is not listed on the testing schedule!
If you register in person, you will be told your appointment time and date and given a confirmation card at that time.
If you register by mail, you will receive an email (if you provide an email address) or phone call once your registration form and payment arrive at University Testing Services. If you have not received an email or phone call/message from us after 10 days from when you mailed in your registration form, please call Testing Services, 910-672-1301, or 910-672-1299 to verify that we have received it.
Be sure that you provide a working email address that is regularly checked and has the spam settings set to allow receipt of emails from the uncfsu.edu domain.
NOTE: It is the examinee's responsibility to telephone University Testing Services (910-672-1299) at least 48 hours prior to the first choice provided to confirm appointment.
